Community College
Why Choose a Community College?
California's 116 community colleges make up the largest system of higher education in the nation, serving more than 2.1 million students each year. Whether your goal is to transfer to a four-year university, earn an associate degree, complete a career training program, or explore your interests, community colleges offer an affordable and flexible pathway to success.
Laguna Beach High School, approximately 30% of graduates choose to attend a California community college. Many students successfully transfer to the University of California (UC), California State University (CSU), and private universities after completing their lower-division coursework.
