Student Safe Return
Welcome Back Breakers!
Trimester 3 Hybrid in person classes began on March 17, 2021. Students, please read this document carefully in order to arrive on time and prepared for your classes.
Please note: parents must have completed the Covid-19 screener that was sent out via ParentSquare or print out the paper screener and email to nking@lbusd.org by Friday, March 12th at 12pm in order for their student to return to campus. This is to be done only once for the trimester prior to attending classes on their first assigned day. Any health changes must be reported to the attendance office and students are requested to stay home if they are showing any symptoms of illness.
Parent & Student Reminders
To accomplish the health and safety measures required by the CDPH in a modified school reopening, we encourage our families and students to follow the protocols outlined in this document. We ask for your patience and cooperation as school will look and feel different when on campus this year. It will take all of us working together as a team to make this happen. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these protocols with your students.
General Student Expectations
Students must wear a face covering at all times while on campus (face coverings).
Stay 6 feet apart from others. No hugging or touching is allowed (social distancing).
No sharing of food, drink, or materials is allowed and be sure to wash hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently and respiratory etiquette. Please note that most students will be participating with both classes in the same classroom from 9am- 1:30pm. There will be a classroom break as a cohort from 11-11:30. Students will be assigned specific restrooms near the assigned classroom cohort and are to otherwise stay with their cohort at all times, social distancing with masks.

Student Arrival on Campus
- Temperature Screenings

- Entry point A - Main Entrance off Short Street
- Entry point B - Breezeway/Theatre Entrance off Park

LBHS Third Trimester Hybrid Entry/Exit Points Map:
Reporting to Class
After students have cleared the entry process at the temperature check station they will report directly to their Course 1 classroom. Students are to report directly to their first class. The library will not be available for students at any time during the school day. If students are in need of a device loaner or have a question, please email library personnel jnorris@lbusd.org or klandgraf@lbusd.org for support and the device will be delivered.
Lunch (11:00-11:30)
School Lunch Program students can order daily through their classroom teacher. Lunches will then be delivered to the classroom. Students will disinfect hands at the beginning and end of the lunch period. Chemical free surface wipes will be available so that students can wipe off their desk after eating. Students are allowed to use these. This would protect food allergy students who might sit at that desk later. Students and teachers will have designated areas for each cohort to eat outside if weather and supervision permit.
Tentative Outdoor Areas By Zone:
Restrooms
Students will have access to restrooms/outdoor areas based on their entry point and Course 1 classroom.
Entry point 1 - Main Entrance off Short Street: 20’s hallway restroom.
Entry point 2 - Breezeway/Theatre Entrance off Park: Breezeway restroom.
Entry point 3 - Upper Deck (80s Gate): Upper-Quad restroom.
Dismissal
Students will exit the same way they entered, through one of their designated entry points in a staggered fashion.
Inclement Weather
Staff will adjust to extreme inclimate weather conditions in the following manner:
- Student Arrival
- Students will report directly to their cohort classrooms
- Break/Lunch will be held inside the cohort classrooms
Students, please see your Aeries account for your entry gate placement. (If your Tri 3 class is room 50, for example, your entry/exit point is A)
Attendance
Students in the trimester hybrid model are expected to attend their courses daily on their assigned date and time. In the event of illness, students are expected to stay home, a parent is required to email ATTENDANCE@LBUSD.ORG. Students may attend their classes virtually in the event they are not feeling well enough to attend. An absence reason must be submitted for any student not attending class if they are scheduled to be in person.
