FAQ
General
What do I do if my child is absent?
Please email: attendance@lbusd.org. To view the details of the procedure, please visit the Attendance Office.
What is the procedure for student needing to leave early from school?
Students may not leave campus through direct communication with the teacher. All departures must follow a strict procedure as required through the attendance office. Students leaving campus without properly receiving authorization from the Attendance Office will result in a TRUANCY. To view the details of the procedure, please visit the Attendance Office.
What if my student is not feeling well?
Students who are not feeling well should notify their teacher and request a pass to the Health Office. The Health Clerk will determine whether or not the student’s parent/guardian should be called requesting that the student be picked up or released to go home. Students should NOT call their parent/guardian from the classroom, as this is a cell phone violation. Students MUST check out through BOTH the Health Office, as well as the Attendance Office (failure to do so will result in a TRUANCY). Students who are not feeling well during Break or Lunch should come directly to the Health Office.
What is BYOD?
BYOD stands for "Bring Your Own Device." Ten teachers at LBHS are redesigning their curriculum to maximize student learning through each student using a computing device during class. Students are encouraged to bring their own device, or check out a Chromebook from the Library. For more information, please visit the BYOD Resource Page.
What is the LBHS cell phone policy?
Cell phones, tablets, laptops, and other audio/visual devices may not be used during instructional time or in a classroom (non-BYOD classes) unless approval has been given by the teacher to do so for instructional purposes. First offense leads to the issuance of a Saturday School. For more information, refer to page 37 of the Student Handbook.
Does a student need to make an appointment to see a counselor?
No. While an appointment is preferred, students can drop by the counseling office during break, lunch, or after school.
When is the Library open?
The Library is open Mondays through Thursdays 7:30 - 3:30 and Fridays 7:30 - 3:00.
