Minimum Day Schedule for Parent Teacher Conferences on March 14^th and March 15^th

Don’t forget Parent Teacher conferences are next week and therefore we will be on Minimum Day Schedule for Thursday and Friday March 14^th and 15^th.  This means all Kindergarten students will attend from 7:55 to 10:45 am and students in Grades 1 - 5 will attend school from 7:55 to 11:45 am. 

Get Ready…Get Set…Get Running…Jog-a-Thon 2013

Last week we kicked off Jog-A-Thon and your child brought home their pledge envelope and a participation t-shirt to wear while raising money for El Morro School!  This is one of our largest fundraisers for our school and depends on your support!  If we reach our goal of raising $60,000.00 for El Morro Elementary, there will be a school wide ice cream party on Friday, April 19th!!! Kindergarten Roundup and Kindergarten Pre-Orientation

Calling all prospective Kindergarten students and parents!  El Morro Elementary School will host its 2013-2014 Kindergarten Pre-Orientation for parents of incoming kindergarteners on March 19 @ 6:00pm.  This is a night time opportunity for working parents to learn more information on the registration process.  Please share this information with your friends who have children coming of kindergarten age.  This meeting is for parents only.  Kindergarten registration will be held on April 23^rd from 9:00-12:00 in the multi-purpose room.  To enroll, your child must be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2013 and live within the El Morro attendance boundaries.  Please visit our website @ http://www.lbusd.org for ALL requirements for registration.  A daytime Kindergarten Orientation will also be held on Wednesday, May 17^th at 9:30 am in the MPR.

Spring Forward – Don’t Forget the Time Change This Weekend and Be On Time for School

The clocks move forward one hour this weekend for daylight saving time.  Please plan ahead and put the kids to bed early on Sunday night.  Daylight Saving Time is no excuse for students to be late. No tardies and no excuses.   Thank you to the majority of parents and students who arrive on time daily. 2^nd Session of After School Clubs Ends and Registration for 3^rd Session Open

The 2^nd session of after school clubs ends Wednesday, March 13^th.  There are no after school clubs on our minimum days next week.  Registration for the 3rd session of after school clubs, which runs April 8^th through May 16^th is available on-line at www.elmorropta.org .  The registration window is Monday, March 18^th through March 25^th.  All registration is done online.  Please remember to register your children for district-provided clubs!  If you have any questions, please email Jenny Gardenswartz at jenny.garden@yahoo.com .

El Morro Garden Workday

Saturday, March 23^rd from 9:00 to 11:00 am we are asking for volunteers to help build some protective fencing around our planter boxes to keep the bunnies out of our garden!
