Principal Michael Conlon joined the Top of the World Elementary family in August, 2014. Prior to joining TOW, Mr. Conlon was principal at Olivewood Elementary School in Lake Forest and served as assistant principal at Oak Middle School in Los Alamitos. He was also an elementary school teacher in the Long Beach Unified School District.
Conlon has been a part of the TOW community since 2010. He tells us, "We have been blessed to have my daughter Brooklyn attend Top of the World since first grade. Seeing the school through the parent lens first has given me incredible insights and has made my transition into the principalship very smooth. I am honored to be the TOW principal and work with such an amazing staff, parents, and students."
Sherine Smith, the Superintendent of LBUSD shares, "as a successful, experienced principal and father of a TOW student, he is the perfect fit for TOW and our district."
Mr. Conlon lives with his wife Kristi, daughter Brooklyn and their two dogs in Aliso Viejo. When asked what he likes to do when not at school, Mr. Conlon shared "I enjoy spending time with friends and family and coaching my daughter's softball team. You might find me out on the links early one weekend morning or cheering for my favorite sports teams....Go Yankees!!"
